Oracle Opera Cloud sits right in the middle of hotel operations, handling reservations, room status, billing, rate plans, guest profiles, and a lot of the reports you rely on at the end of every shift and every day. Front office and back office, it keeps things ticking.

How the the Oracle Opera & SFTP connection works

  • You create an SFTP user and folder in SFTP To Go for Oracle Opera Cloud
  • You copy the host, port, username, and password or key from the SFTP To Go credentials screen
  • Oracle support allow-lists your SFTP To Go hostname, if required
  • In Oracle Opera Cloud, you create an SFTP configuration and paste in those details
  • You validate the connection and then assign it to report delivery or export jobs

From that point on, files can move from Oracle Opera to SFTP To Go automatically, following the schedules and rules you define in Oracle Opera.

Good habits for moving hotel data over SFTP

If you’re delivering guest and financial data, you’ll need the basics to be right:

  • Prefer SSH keys over passwords for the Oracle Opera SFTP user where possible
  • Limit access with IP allow-lists so only Oracle Opera and your automated tools can connect
  • Use separate SFTP users or folders for test and production Oracle Opera environments
  • Keep folder names and structures consistent across properties
  • Archive or move processed files so downstream jobs don’t reprocess them
  • Use SFTP To Go’s webhooks and API to trigger imports or analytics jobs once files land
