2025 is done and dusted, and us crazy ants have plenty in store!
It’s been an epic year and, at SFTP To Go, the crazy ants didn’t take a day off. We focused on making just the kind of upgrades that make secure file transfer and cloud storage feel calmer, cleaner, and harder to mess up…and let’s not forget, more secure!
It doesn’t end there though. The atmosphere is electric. We’re amping up for 2026 and we’ve got so much in store!!
Major feature updates
All through the year, our dev team grafted madly to shave friction off the workflow and add layers of security to our fortified platform. Here’s what we rolled out in 2025.
Security got a glow-up!
Email-Associated Credentials
Ever stared at a credential list and thought, “Cool, and which human is this?” And what about those humans who keep forgetting their passwords? Well, this feature allows for email-based password-resets, easy identification, and extra verification.

Magic Code Login
Passwords have had a long reign. They’ve also brought a long list of hassles. Magic Code login lets web portal users sign in with a one-time code sent to their associated email address, so they’re not stuck memorizing yet another password they’ll inevitably reuse somewhere they shouldn’t.

MFA For Credentials
Secure is no longer enough. You want “way more than secure”, and rightfully so. Well, in 2025, we added MFA support for credentials when logging into the web portal, using email OTP or an authenticator app.

Visibility got better!
Audit Logs Export
Audit logs are only useful if you can actually use them. In 2025, we shipped Audit Logs Export so you can export audit logs to CSV files and parse them into analytics platforms or stash them for your next audit, whatever you need.

Historical Usage Data
A single daily snapshot is fine, but you need history and context. In 2025, we expanded the Usage and Billing dashboard to support historical usage across key metrics like storage, bandwidth, credentials, share links, webhooks, domains, and total files, with a range of time based filters for granular detail.

Admin MFA requirement and SAML SSO
Admin access is the set of keys that can change how everything behaves. So we raised the baseline for authentication. We now require MFA for SFTP To Go admin users. We now also offer SAML SSO for admin users, so organizations keep access in the same policy universe as everything else.
SOC 2 compliance
2025 wasn’t just feature shipping. We’re pumped that we achieved SOC 2 compliance, which means our security program is actual, actionable, and truly effective in practice. And we can prove it!! SOC 2 covers:
- Security: Preventing unauthorized access to systems and data
- Availability: Ensuring the platform is reliable and consistently accessible
- Confidentiality: Restricting data access to only those with a legitimate need
And we cleared our audit with flying colors!

Celebrating industry accolades
We’re buzzing to know that our focus on usability, security, and reliability didn’t go unnoticed. In 2025, we picked up a whole new spread of badges and kudos, and yes, we got shiny stickers!

Awards are fun, but what’s better is what they usually signal: Support that’s fast, UX that’s clear, workflows that don’t resist you, and an electric trend that’s always aiming up.
Customer feedback
Customers like you keep us motivated and inspired. You also keep us honest, because real and sensitive workflows have zero patience for mediocre or “quite secure”.
Beyond the shiny badges, our customers also had bright feedback.
“Straightforward, reliable and just what we needed.”
“The support team is really responsive and committed to help.”
“It just works.”
Our most talked-about post: SFTP vs. FTPS benchmarks (plus the whitepaper)
Because we can’t help ourselves, we also published a benchmark guide that turned a long held “fact” on its head.
Our SFTP vs. FTPS benchmarks post became the most talked-about thing we published in 2025, and the companion whitepaper gave teams the proof they needed.
All is not what it’s assumed to be, where secure transfer protocols are concerned!

If you’ve ever watched a confident “FTPS is always faster” statement collapse under real test steps, you already get why this one took off.
Game-changing resources: our SOC 2 & HIPAA Checklists, and SFTP Security Guide
Written for compliance-oriented teams who want practical, technical clarity in a structured, digestible format.
- HIPAA Compliance Checklist (2025): A concise, step-by-step guide for covered entities and business associates, focused on practical safeguards, documentation, and operational habits that hold up in real workflows.
- SOC 2 Compliance Checklist: A technical, evidence-driven checklist aligned to the SOC 2 Trust Services Criteria, built to help teams map controls to audit-ready evidence.
- SFTP Security Guide: A grounded but comprehensive technical guide to what actually makes SFTP secure, what doesn’t, and how to configure it for compliance and optimal security.
What’s next in 2026?
In 2026, we’re pushing for tighter access boundaries, cleaner intake from external partners, and less manual handling.
Here’s what we have in the works:
structured, digestible format.
- Automations: policy-driven handling after transferAutomate the common file hygiene steps to drastically cut manual interaction: encryption, compression, retention rules, and archival.
- File requests: embeddable uploads to a designated destinationAdd an upload widget to your website or send an email request so customers and partners can send files straight into a specific folder. Just a controlled drop-off point that fits real intake workflows.
- Virtual file system: controlled folder views per userMap multiple directories to each user or team for advanced access control.
Thank you for a rewarding year
None of this would’ve been possible without our community of users. Your feedback, your edge cases, and your “this is probably weird, but…” messages shape what we build.
As we head into 2026, we’re excited to keep improving how you move, manage, and store sensitive files, securely, reliably, and without the usual chaos.
